Moderator's Guide
Welcome to SCSUpolitics.net, the place where St. Cloud State University Students are encouraged to share their political ideals and concerns. However, we ask that you please take the time to read through this, as these rules are important to remember and will help keep the forum environment enjoyable and free of stress.
*The main moderators of the forum are: MorganQuinn, Matt Barton, ScSy0501, MattBoyington, MeJo0601, and LiMei.
1. No harassing other members. This includes but is not limited to confrontational posts with malicious intent, stalking other members or anything that could generally be construed as harassment.
2. No flaming/personal attacks towards another member. Making any racist, homophobic, sexist, or xenophobic comments are extremely disrespectful and immature. These forums are meant to be enjoyed by everyone. If this policy is a problem for you, then this is not the forum for you. This will not be tolerated. Remember, everyone is entitled to their opinion, as you are yours. Be as respectful as possible. If you feel as though you’re beliefs are being compromised or attacked unnecessarily, report it to a Forum Moderator so the problem can be solved.
3. What you write is a reflection of your level of respect for this forum and its members. Take the time to construct well-written, clear and sincere posts. This way, more people will be willing to respond. Posts comprised primarily of street slang, internet slang, abbreviations (lol, rofl, lmao, etc.), misspelled words, or bad swearing (which is prohibited) are abhorrent and hard to understand. Members who can not conduct themselves as adults will be removed without warning.
4. Cite your sources! You may know where you got your information from, but others might be interested in reading up on the information. Cover all of your bases and cite your sources. Give credit where credit is due.
5. A person is limited to one account. Your opinion may be important, but not important enough to create 6 accounts to overwhelm the forums with it.
6. No advertising, leeching, or link spamming. This includes but is not limited to:
- Advertising or recruiting for other sites.
- Posting links publicly.
- Spamming links to websites offering “free” products such as game consoles, computers, cameras, etc.
- Spamming sites offering illegal and/or inappropriate material such as pornography, hacks, cracks, keygens, warez, emulators and roms, etc.
These are not tolerated and immediate action will be taken by the moderator that catches it.
7. Flooding the forums (posting a comment more than once) is prohibited. The mods will be aware of an accidental double-post, but anything more than that might necessitate your removal from the forums.
8. Debate is encouraged! That’s why we invited you here in the first place! Just make sure to keep the rules in mind.
**The moderator’s choices and actions are not debatable. We will take the actions necessary to keep the forums a safe and interesting environment**
