Could Pope Benedict XVI Influence the Election?

Soon Pope Benedict XVI will be arriving to the U.S. to make his first visit. Many Catholics from all over the country will be there to listen and seek his guidance. Should the presidential candidates take this into account, considering that there are 70 million American Catholics that make up 20 percent of the electoral vote. Not to mention the fact, that Catholic voters have picked the winner in eight out of the last nine presidential elections. Could this benefit Republicans for being opposed to abortion rights or will it help the Democrats on the Vatican's opposition to the war in Iraq?
